Auditions

Experience the joy of singing in a community of talented and dedicated women! WomenSing is seeking experienced women choral singers. Auditions are held by appointment. If you are interested in joining us, please contact us by email at audition@womensing.org or call our voice mail 925.974.9169.

Please bring a completed copy of this information form to your audition. For your audition you will be asked to vocalize, do some sight-reading and sing a song of your choice. Please bring a copy of the sheet music so the director can accompany you.

Rehearsals and Performances

WomenSing’s season runs from September to June. There are three series of concerts per season: Holiday Concerts held in early December, Winter Concerts in Mid-March and Spring Concerts in May/June. Recording sessions are usually held the week after our concerts. Current performances take place in fine venues in Contra Costa and Alameda Counties and occasionally in San Francisco.

In addition to our concert season, activities may include outreach concerts, invitational concerts, retreats, workshops and touring.

Rehearsals for the WomenSing season usually begin in late August. Rehearsals take place weekly in Lafayette, CA from 7:15 to 9:45 on Wednesday evenings.

Fees

First year members pay $85 per trimester plus music costs. Purchase of standard costumes pieces is also required. There is a scholarship fund available for singers as needed.
